Recipients Story:
There is nothing sweet about cancer, but at the age of 4, Alexandra
"Alex" Scott (1996-2004) turned lemons into lemonade by setting
out to help find a cure for childhood cancer, one cup at a time.
Hosting annual lemonade stands and working year-round to raise
awareness and funds for others battling the deadly disease, Alex
paired her tireless efforts with those of her parents, Jay and Liz
Scott.
Since its inception Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation has helped
families dealing with cancer by funding groundbreaking research
contributing to finding a cure and hope to those currently battling
the disease.

Other Stories of Sharing…

San Mar Children's Home:

Mary, 15 yrs old, has ridden her bike the
length of the C&O canal (184.5 miles)
every year since she was 9 years old in
order to raise money for the San Mar Home.
This is their annual fundraiser. This year
will be her 7th year participating in the
ride.

She raises money from sponsors by going
door to door, writing letters and sending
e-mails. In addition to this, Mary works
in a soup kitchen feeding homeless clients
and participates in at least one mission
trip each year to serve those in need in
the U.S. and Abroad.

Operation Noah:

After traumatic visits to the hospital, at
age 13 Dennis founded Operation Noah, an
organization dedicated to collecting and
donating new stuffed animals for children
in the hospital. In just three years,
Dennis' outreach has spread tremendously
and his commitment still stands as Operation
Noah thrives.

Thanks to Dennis, Operation Noah has visited
19 states and 73 hospitals; donating over
28,000 stuffed animals. Still in school and
extremely busy, Dennis makes time to collect
and donate new stuffed animals on his own,
work with people throughout the nation to
expand Operation Noah, and speak to large
groups about community service.
