Recipients Story:
Despite facing an incredibly difficult health challenge, Jen Linn
shared her time, passion and positive energy to improve the lives
of others. At the age of 33, Jen was diagnosed with a rare form
of cancer. While undergoing 3 major surgeries and countless doses
of chemotherapy, Jen created Spin4Survival.org to raise money for
research on cancer types which are extremely deadly, but don't get
the funding they desperately require.
The First Annual Spin4Survival was an inspiring day that raised
$200,000. Jen is now sharing her time and energy to make the
Second Annual Spin4Survival in January 2008 bigger and better.

Other Stories of Sharing…

St. Jude Children's Hospital:

Faith is not a patient at this hospital,
nor does she know anyone being treated by
St. Jude. For Faith's 9th and 10th birthday
she decided that instead of presents, her
friends and family should donate to St. Jude!
Raising about $750! It made her feel so good.

Faith is, again planning another fundraiser
for her 11th birthday in January of 2008.
This time she is planning on reaching out
beyond her friends and family by sending out
letters to local businesses and asking
friends to pass on the message to others
hoping to raise $1000 this birthday alone.

Manna House:

Sam is the Director of manna House which is
a drug & alcohol free program for chronically
homeless men. Despite fighting mouth cancer,
he not only runs Manna House, but is available
24/7 for whatever the residents need. He helps
the men with job applications, driver's licenses,
SS cards, budgeting, transportation or whatever
else the men may need.

His goal is for the men to become independent,
self-maintaining, self-respecting members of
society once again. He genuinally cares to the
point of being selfless, and gives generously
of his time and energy which has been in short
supply with fighting cancer.
