Westerville Crew:
In 1995 Matt Chase left the medical profession
to become community-involved. Desiring to create
a program to offer high school kids the
opportunity to experience, learn, succeed, grow,
and lead, Matt started Westerville Crew.
With no money Matt raffled off his limited
production Mustang automobile and purchased used
boats and equipment. Since then, Matt and his wife
Trish have spent every day (yes, every day)
sharing their talents, knowledge, and time with
kids helping them succeed. They have fostered a
family of hundreds of kids, each a productive
community-minded citizen; thanks to their
efforts, will continue for years to come.
American Lung Association of Maryland:
Lisa has been in remission from lung cancer
for the past 3 years. She became involved with
the Stadium Trekk in 2007 and formed a team,
which raised over $10,000. She was so
committed that she was asked to be on the
board and is currently their spokesperson.
She speaks regularly to promote research and
help others suffering from the disease. She
also helps with other charites i.e. a Christmas
day volunteer event that recruited over 500
people that assembled 1,200 bags that were
deliverd to homeless shelters throughout the
community. She also cooks and delivers dinner
to a shelter.
